Committed to A Stronger Utica

About Brad O'Donnell

Brad O’Donnell graduated in 2011 from Central Michigan University with a degree in Political Science, and a double minor in Economics and Public Affairs. He acquired a Citizen Planner certificate from Michigan State University Extension, giving him expert knowledge on how cities function. Brad is a member of Strong Towns, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building resilient and prosperous communities.

After a brief stint working for candidates for elected office, Brad worked at a nonprofit organization for 4 years as Director of Development and Community Relations. This work reinforced his passion for helping those with special needs, especially children. Utilizing this skill set, Brad became an Implementation Project Manager for EHR software for behavioral health agencies, and is now a Business Analyst.

Brad serves the City of Utica as a Councilman, popularly elected by voters in 2018.

A lifelong Macomb County resident, Brad chose Utica. He bought a home here due to its rich history, walkable downtown and neighborhoods, and friendly citizens. In his spare time Brad likes to eat (especially frozen custard), grab a beer in downtown Utica with friends, and work on his 1937 fixer-upper home. Brad doesn't like to take himself too seriously, which is why he feels so strange writing this in the third-person.
